A combination of contrasting elements and art-based prints defines Zena's vision: Zena Presley is classic and modern, artistic and simple, effortless and statement-worthy. This season's collaboration between Zena Presley and IA LONDON has brought fashion and design into a delectable duo. Featuring hypnotic color layering, IA LONDON's design is inspired by the peculiar, the unusual and the unique. In a fairytale vision, SS18 is surrounded by colourful, unique animal, plant and female beauty motifs.
Combining arts with modern technology, digital prints can create possibility out of impossibility, surrealism out of realism. The forthcoming AW17 collection has been inspired by Japanese culture, art and aesthetics, and features collaborations with a number of international artists, shinning a light on Hokusai's work and his beautiful representation of nature, bringing to life the beauty of this unique culture.
In Zena's world, art and fashion are one and the same, her love for prints is apparent in every collection where she takes us on a journey from her inspiration, to how that translates into prints and is combined effortlessly with the brand's aesthetics. Inspired by her fascination with birds, the messages and symbols that they carry, Zena Presley’s SS17 collection embodies the birds’ beauty, freedom, and movement. Featuring art from various artists, this collection remains to be one that is particularly dear to Zena's heart.
Like all of Zena's prints, AW16 prints were constructed through digital technology. Digital print allows a designer to experiment with print in a way that fine art and other methods could not. A truly different take on prints, this collection features still art from minimalist photographers from around the world. In a non-conventional autumn-winter color palette, this is the collection that gave Zena larger, bigger wings and pushed her to experiment with shapes, structures and combinations.
Based on Zena Presley’s affinity with creating affordable clothing that embodies the freedom of self-‐expression and individuality, her second collection conveyed her exquisite signature style with art inspired prints. SS16 featured artworks that were hand selected from three Arab expressionist artists; Syrians Saad Yagan and Bahram Hajou and Egyptian Wael Sabour. In bold colors and classic cuts, the SS16 pieces were statement-worthy, focusing on tones of red, blue and yellow.
With a true appreciation for the African culture and heritage, Zena’s first collection stems from the rich emotions and compelling stories of the colorful and vibrant continent. Her love of visual art that conveys everyday situations inspired the designer to take a more creative road in designing her first collection. The collection creates a beautiful fusion between art and fashion by collaborating with a miscellaneous range of artists from numerous nationalities, who have used her textiles as their canvases to marry clothing with gallery-worthy prints, thus resulting in classic cuts of ready-to-wear pieces with an edge.
